The heads of TABLE GRAPE of the Mixed Fruit and Vegetable Committee made up of France, Italy, Portugal and Spain and of the four administrations, headed in the case of Spain by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, will meet for the first time on 23rd of October in Ifema (Madrid), which hosts the Fruit Attraction 2019 fair that day.
The objective is to create a stable international dialogue and cooperation framework for this sector.
The Spanish table grape sector will be represented through the Association of Producers-Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables, Table Grapes and Other Agricultural Products of the Region of Murcia, APOEXPA, integrated in Fepex.
The constitution of the table grape group takes place at a time when there is a “growth in the production of apirena grape, (without seed), especially in Spain and Italy, as well as a growing interest in it from the demand European.
Currently, Spain is the leading European producer of Apirena table grapes and most of the area is located in Murcia, which has 3,000 hectares.
